New Board Appointments Strengthen Strategic Leadership at AACC

The Alberta Association of Career Colleges (AACC) has appointed two new Board Directors for 2025 following the 2025 Annual General Meeting. This update reflects the Association’s ongoing commitment to strong leadership and sector accountability.

Tariq Elamm, Regional Student Finance Manager at CDI College and Reeves College Campus Support, brings experience in financial planning and student support. He said he looks forward to helping strengthen private post secondary education in Alberta and supporting learners through improved funding access.

“Bringing my experience in finance leadership, student funding and campus support, I am excited to serve on the Board of the Alberta Association of Career Colleges and contribute to strengthening private post secondary education in our province,” he shared.

Usman Sadiq, Education Leader at RCB College, joins the Board with a focus on connecting training to real workforce needs. He noted that private career colleges play a vital role in Canada’s economy and that he plans to work with government and industry to address skills shortages.

As a Director, my focus is to highlight the vital role private career colleges play in supporting Canada’s economy,” he said. “I plan to engage with government officials and policymakers to better understand workforce challenges and demonstrate how private colleges can help bridge the talent gap across industries.”

These AACC New Board Directors 2025 appointments come at a key time. AACC continues to work with government, regulators and community partners to ensure students receive education that leads to meaningful careers. With the combined experience of Mr. Elamm and Mr. Sadiq, the Board is well positioned to support progress in student success, institutional quality and workforce readiness across Alberta.
