About AACC

The Alberta Association of Career Colleges (AACC) is one of a Canadian network of provincial associations which provide membership services and benefits to private Career Colleges across Canada. The Association consists of member post-secondary institutions with a wide variety of programs offered in Alberta.

The AACC expands opportunities to provide quality private post-secondary education by fostering cooperative working relationships with industry and government regulatory bodies and increasing public and industry awareness of the quality of private post-secondary institutions and the programs members provide.

Our Mission

  • AACC offers supports through activities and services that build the capacity of its members to offer high quality education/learning opportunities.
  • AACC expands opportunities to provide quality private post-secondary education, by fostering cooperative working relationships with industry and government regulatory bodies so that public and industry awareness of the quality of private vocational colleges and their programs is increased.
  • AACC encourages its members to achieve excellence in the business of learning.
  • AACC holds the following Beliefs:
  • AACC believes that learning provides positive outcomes in the lives of individuals.
  • AACC believes that private post-secondary institutions provide a valuable type of learning within a broad spectrum of approaches to training.
  • AACC believes that the Association is the best way for members to make positive changes for their own institutions and for the private post-secondary industry.

Our Vision

That private post-secondary institutions are recognized as a quality educational choice to meet the needs of adult learners, industry, general public and government agencies.

AACC Values

Code of Ethics

The AACC mission is to expand opportunities to provide quality private post-secondary education by fostering
cooperative working relationships with industry and government regulatory bodies and to increase public and industry
awareness of the quality of private post-secondary institutions and the programs they provide.

We, as proud Members of the Alberta Association of Career Colleges agree to adhere to the following Code of Ethics.

In all its professional relationships, the Member agrees to:

  • Present all information about their institution honestly and realistically.
  • Act in good faith.
  • Protect the confidential nature of information.
  • Protect human and civil rights.

 In all its administrative relationships, the Member shall:

  • Have an appropriate and posted grievance or complaint and appeal process in place.
  • Maintain a knowledgeable and competent faculty.
  • Adhere to all appropriate regulatory requirements.
  • Abide by ethical and accepted and learner-focused practices.

 In relation to AACC, the Member shall:

  • Speak well of the Association, fellow Members and the Career College industry within the Association and to government officials.
  • Speak officially on behalf of the Association only with specified permission granted by the Board of Directors.
